342 Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated from Macau (China)
VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on August 30 brought home 342 Vietnamese citizens left stranded in Macau (China) due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The passengers were minors 18, pregnant women, people with underlying illnesses, guest workers with expired labour contracts, students without accommodations, stranded tourists, and others in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.
Security, safety and hygiene measures were carried out throughout the flight to protect their health and prevent the possible spread of the virus.
Upon landing at Can Tho International Airport, those on board received health check-ups and were sent to concentrated quarantine facilities in Bac Lieu and Ben Tre provinces in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
Can Tho International Airport on August 29 also received a VietJet Air flight repatriating 230 Vietnamese citizens from Taiwan (China). The citizens were then placed in quarantine in Dong Thap and Hau Giang provinces.
More repatriation flights are set to be conducted in the coming time to bring home Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and the nation’s quarantine capacity.
