25 Vietnamese universities listed in QS Asia University Rankings 2026
VOV.VN - Vietnam has 25 universities included in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2026, an increase of 11 institutions from last year.
The rankings, released on November 4 by QS, a leading global university ranking organization, show Vietnam National University, Hanoi as the country’s highest-ranked institution, placed at 158th.
Duy Tan University ranked second among Vietnamese universities at 165th, down 38 positions from the previous edition. It was followed by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City at 175th, Ton Duc Thang University at 231st, and Van Lang University at 251st.
Several Vietnamese universities appeared in the Asian rankings for the first time, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Foreign Trade University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City, Phenikaa University, and the Banking Academy of Vietnam.
The University of Hong Kong topped the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, followed by Peking University, Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore, and Fudan University.
The 2026 edition evaluated 1,500 universities across Asia based on criteria including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, international research networks, citations per paper, and international diversity.
QS is one of the three leading global university ranking organizations, alongside Times Higher Education (THE) and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
