240 Vietnamese citizens arrive home safely from Singapore

VOV.VN - As many as 240 Vietnamese citizens arrived home safe and sound on November 26 on a flight arranged by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, low-cost airline VietJet Air in coordination with Malaysian competent agencies.

The passengers on board included the elderly, people suffering underlying health issues, and other people in extremely difficult circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore sent staff to the airport to assist the citizens with necessary boarding procedures ahead of their departure.

VietJet Air strictly implemented security, safety, and epidemiological measures during the flights to ensure the passengers’ health and prevent the possible spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As soon as the plane touched down at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City, all crew members and passengers underwent medical supervision and were transferred to quarantine facilities in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Vietnamese agencies are arranging similar repatriation flights in the near future to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas according to their wishes as well as the epidemic situation and local quarantine capacity.
