2016 National Volunteer Awards launched
VOV.VN -Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the United Nations Volunteer Program on August 1 co-hosted a ceremony launching the 2016 National Volunteer Awards in Hanoi.
Ten organizations and 10 individuals will be honored for their achievements in and great contributions to voluntary campaigns.
Awardees are governmental and non-governmental organisations and agencies as well as voluntary groups and clubs operating for at least one year and with a minimum membership of 20.
Individuals must be Vietnamese citizens aged 15 years old above living in Vietnam and having at least two years to engage in voluntary activities regarding health, education, environment, culture, and community development.
Foreign citizens must be 18 years old above and have at least one year to work as a volunteer in Vietnam.
The submission will run from August 2- October 30. The organising board will announce the list of contestants at www.tinhnguyenquocgia.vn
The awards ceremony is set to be held on December 5, marking International Volunteering Day in the capital city.
