200 scholarships presented to Lao students in Vietnam
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Association for Promoting Education (VAPE) and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on November 30 presented scholarships to 200 outstanding Lao students learning in Vietnam.
The scholarships are worth VND3 million, equal to US$122, each and are being funded by the VAPE.
Addressing the event, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, president of the VAPE, noted that through this activity, the association has high hopes of further fostering bilateral relations in education-training, promoting education, and building a learning society.
Underlining the significance of education as part of the future of each country, Doan expressed her hope that Lao and Vietnamese students will support each other to contribute to the sustainable development of their respective countries.
In response, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Vietnamese Government and the VAPE for assisting Lao students in Vietnam.
He also reminded the students that they must strive to achieve a higher academic performance whilst continuing to maintain solidarity.
