19 Vietnamese scientists named in world rankings by research.com

VOV.VN -The website Research.com recently announced its rankings of global scientists who recorded excellent achievements in scientific publications in 2024, with 19 Vietnamese nationals featured.

This ranking of the best scientists in the world was based on a detailed evaluation of nearly 170,000 profiles on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph, with this being divided into 26 disciplines.

The Vietnamese scientists were ranked in a total of 10 areas, including Business and Management, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics and Finance, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science, Material Science, Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Medicine, and Social Sciences and Humanities.

This year marked the first time that two Vietnamese scientists have been ranked in the Mathematics discipline. They are Professor Ngo Viet Trung from the Institute of Mathematics and Professor Phan Quoc Khanh from Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

Most notably, six of the ranked scientists are from the Vietnam National University-Hanoi, including Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Dinh Duc who was named in the Engineering and Technology discipline, Prof. Dr. Pham Hung Viet and Assoc. Prof. Tu Binh Minh who were hailed in Environmental Science, and Dr. Le Hoang Son, who was listed among the best scientists in the Computer Science discipline.

Last year saw 14 Vietnamese named in the list of world scientists with excellent achievements in scientific publications in 2024 by Research.com.
