1.4-meter-long bomb found beneath Nam Mo River in Nghe An

VOV.VN - Residents of Pung Village in cenral Nghe An province have discovered a bomb measuring approximately 1.4 meters in length and 30 centimeters in diameter beneath the Nam Mo river, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tuong Duong Commune Nguyen Hong Tai said on November 3.

At around 9 p.m. on October 30, after the river’s water level dropped, local residents unexpectedly spotted the bomb about 30 meters from the riverbank and roughly 200 meters from Tan Xa Bridge.

Upon receiving the report, the Tuong Duong Commune People’s Committee deployed militia and security forces to guard the site, put up warning signs, and prohibited residents from entering the area. Locals are requested not to approach, take photos, fish or harvest aquatic resources near the site.

Local authorities and relevant forces are finalizing necessary documentation and procedures for the bomb’s safe disposal.
