13 Vietnamese named among world's best scientists

VOV.VN - A total of 13 Vietnamese nationals working in the country have been listed among the world's top scientists by research.com, a reputable scientist ranking website.

The ranking is based on D-index (Discipline H-index), which includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline. It was completed after analysing the data of 166,880 scientists in 24 areas on Microsoft Academic Graph.

The scientists named in the ranking specialise in seven fields, ranging from engineering and technology, computer science, environmental science, material science, mechanical and aerospace engineering, to community health, and social sciences and humanities.

The group are made up of Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Van Minh of Hanoi University of Public Health, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Binh Minh, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, and Prof. Dr. Pham Hung Viet of the Vietnam National University-Hanoi. This is along with Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc from Duy Tan University, Prof. Nguyen Van Hieu of Phenikaa University, Prof. Nguyen Xuan Hung and Assoc. Prof. Phung Van Phuc of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thoi Trung of Van Lang University, Assoc. Prof. Thai Hoang Chien of Ton Duc Thang University, Assoc. Prof.  Bui Quoc Tinh of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Assoc. Prof. Tran Xuan Bach of Hanoi Medical University.

Last year, research.com also named 10 Vietnamese scientists in its list of the world's best scientists.

Earlier, 10 Vietnamese were named in the list of the world’s top 10,000 scientists released in October 2022 by PLOS Biology Journal of the United States, with the list featuring Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son.
