12 patients, including 8-month-old child in Da Nang, recover from COVID-19

VOV.VN - An additional 12 positive novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, including an eight-month-old child, were successfully discharged from hospitals in Da Nang and the central province of Quang Nam on the morning of August 13.

Among the discharged patients were a 42-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man who had originally been admitted to Quang Nam province’s General Hospital on August 6.

Following their treatment, the pair tested negative for COVID-19 twice and four times, respectively, therefore meeting the necessary health criteria for a full recovery announcement.

Simultaneously, 10 patient aged eight months to 66 were diagnosed as having fully recovered after testing negative four times for the virus at the field hospital in Hoa Vang district of Da Nang.

Among the group are eight patients who are locals of Da Nang, in addition to two further  cases who are both residing in Quang Nam province.

All 12 patients will now be placed into isolation for another 14 days to ensure there is no possibility of the virus recurring or being transmitted among the wider community.

At present, up to 15 positive COVID-19 patients at the field hospital in Hoa Vang district of Da Nang have made a full recovery.

To date, Vietnam has registered a total of 883 COVID-19 patients since the detection of the first positive case in January. Of the total, more than 400 have been discharged from hospital, including two first cases in Quang Ngai on August 12.
