Public opinions on APEC Week

VOV.VN - The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Week will begin in Da Nang on November 6. VOV’s reporter in Da Nang interviewed local people about this event.

Most of the interviewees said the APEC Economic Leaders' Week is a chance for Vietnam to promote its images, seek new business and investment opportunities, and raise its prestige internationally. Da Nang will introduce foreign delegates to its tourist attractions and gave them a hospitable reception.

Nguyen Viet Dung, a Da Nang resident, said, “I’m proud that Da Nang is hosting this international event. Da Nang people are friendly and sociable. We hope Da Nang will attract more foreign tourists and investment to help generate jobs and raise people’s incomes.”

International events like this APEC Meeting need to provide a skillful reception to connect people of different countries, cultures, and languages. Student volunteers will introduce Vietnam’s culture and attractions to the foreign visitors.

Nguyen Long Vinh, a student at Da Nang university, said, “I’m assigned to welcome delegates. It’s an honor for me to serve the APEC Meeting, an international political, economic, and diplomatic event. I hope this event will open more development opportunities for Da Nang and prove the city worthy of “the most livable city in Vietnam”.

The APEC Economic Leaders' Week will bring Da Nang increased tourism opportunities.

Vu Viet Anh, a representative of Thanh Cong Tourism Company, said,“Vietnam has paid millions of USD for 30 second advertisements on channels like BBC. APEC Economic Leaders' Week will draw 10 thousand foreign delegates and reporters. This is a useful way to promote Vietnam’s image to the world. I believe that after the event, Vietnamese tourism will flourish.”
