    During the course of the talks, Minister Giang extends his sincere thanks to Australia for its support to Vietnam during the fight against COVID-19, as well as Australia's effective co-operation in fulfilling the UN peacekeeping mission.

   Both leaders affirms that the two defense ministries have coordinated effectively in deploying the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defense cooperation signed in 2010 and the Joint Vision Statement on promoting defense cooperation signed in 2018, with positive results being recorded in exchanging high-level delegations, counter-terrorism skills, ensuring maritime security and overcoming the war consequences

    The Vietnamese Ministry of Defense highly appreciates Australia's active contribution to the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM).

    They agree to continue effectively enhancing ties, maintaining the ongoing consultation mechanisms, and assisting in improving the capacity of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Training Center. The Australian side will also support Vietnam's candidacy for high-ranking positions at the UN headquarters.
