Vietnamese, Singaporean PMs attend VSIP Thai Binh groundbreaking ceremony
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) on March 26 in northern Thai Binh province.

The event was virtually connected from the Government Office to Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.
In his address, PM Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the ceremony marks a substantive step forward in the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He praised the close cooperation between the two governments and business communities in developing the VSIP model, which has become a symbol of strategic trust and effective collaboration.

He highlighted that Vietnam-Singapore relations are stronger than ever, with economic, trade, and investment cooperation serving as a key pillar. Singapore is currently Vietnam’s second-largest investor, with nearly 4,000 projects, while Vietnam has successfully developed 20 VSIPs.
Both sides agreed to develop next-generation VSIPs that are sustainable, smart, and integrated with advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. These new industrial parks will combine manufacturing with commercial, service, urban, and innovation hubs.

For his part, Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong reaffirmed that VSIP has been a "cornerstone" of bilateral cooperation for the past 30 years, demonstrating Singapore’s confidence in Vietnam’s growth potential. He expressed hope that future VSIPs will be smarter, greener, more cost-efficient, and sustainable. He also cited the Lego factory in VSIP Binh Duong, which operates on solar energy, as a model for green production.
PM Wong noted that VSIP Thai Binh will soon be connected to Lach Huyen Port in Hai Phong via an expressway, thus enhancing its appeal for high-tech investment. He expressed confidence that VSIPs will continue to thrive, serving as innovation hubs and key pillars of the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
