NA Chairman hosts leaders of Thai Chamber of Commerce and Thai firms
VOV.VN - Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Sanan Angubolkuk, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), and executives of several leading Thai businesses on December 8 in Bangkok as part of his ongoing official visit to the Southeast Asian nation.
The top Vietnamese legislator noted his appreciation for the TCC’s effective co-ordination with Vietnamese agencies in preparing for a Vietnam-Thailand forum in Bangkok aimed at discussing policies and laws which seek to ramp up bilateral economic, trade, and investment co-operation, as well as the chamber’s contributions to trade and investment collaboration.
He thanked the Thai side for supporting the establishment of a Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (VietCham Thailand) and requested that the TCC collaborate with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and relevant agencies in the nation to further enhance trade and investment ties between the two sides.
In response, Angubolkuk said that the TCC is working closely with the VCCI to facilitate partnership between Vietnamese and Thai business communities, thereby contributing to increasing two-way trade.
NA Chairman Hue emphasized that the bilateral trade goal of US$25 billion is only for the near future, with the two sides striving to reach a higher figure in a balanced and sustainable manner, thereby matching the potential of each country and the sound political and diplomatic ties.
At a meeting held with leading Thai firms investing in Vietnam, including Central Group, SIAM Cement Group (SCG), Kasikorn Bank, Charoen Pokphand (CP), and WHA, NA Chairman Hue thanked the Thai companies for choosing the Vietnamese market to invest in, going on to laud their effective operations in the nation.
He stated that he hopes the firms will continue to expand their production and business in the country following the co-operation trend of the two countries.
NA Chairman Hue told Thai businesses that both the Vietnamese NA and Government are working to review and fine-tuning the legal system in a bid to provide the best possible conditions for domestic and foreign investors, including those from Thailand.
In line with this, the nation always considers the success of foreign investors as its own, he stated.
Representatives from the Thai firms therefore thanked Vietnamese agencies, including the NA, for providing the optimal conditions possible for them to operate in the country.
They pledged to continue to expand their business and production in the nation and make greater contributions to the development of local communities.
