Vietnamese Embassy in Israel updates civil defence policy amid Middle East conflict

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on the evening of March 16 (local time) sent a notice to the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the country about the updated civil defence policy of the Home Front Command under the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).

According to the notice, the civil defence policy is in effect nationwide from 20:00 on March 16 to 20:00 on March 18, with different levels depending on each area.

Specifically, in many areas in northern and central Israel, including the northern border, the Golan Heights, Upper Galilee, the northern valleys, Haifa Bay, Carmel, Menashe, Wadi Ara, Sharon, the Tel Aviv metropolitan area and surrounding areas, Yarkon, Shephelah, Jerusalem, Judea Shephelah, Lachish, central Negev and Eilat- the “limited activity” level continues to apply. Under this level, gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed at locations with access to standard shelters within the required time upon alert; educational activities are suspended; workplaces may operate if access to shelters is ensured; and beaches remain closed to the public.

Meanwhile, in several other areas such as southern Golan (excluding Katzrin and Kedmat Zvi), Lower Galilee and Central Galilee, and certain areas under Sharon, Jerusalem, Judea Shephelah (excluding Beit Shemesh) and Lachish, the policy is partially eased.

Accordingly, some educational activities, especially special education, may be held at facilities equipped with standard shelters, in line with guidance from Israel’s Ministry of Education.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommends that the Vietnamese community continue to closely follow notices and guidance from the IDF Home Front Command, be aware of the locations of shelters near their homes and workplaces, stay calm, comply with local regulations, and promptly move to shelters when security alerts are issued.
