Vietnamese, Chinese court systems augment cooperation

VOV.VN -Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, secretary of the Party Central Committee, and chief justice of the Supreme People's Court, held talks on June 29 with Zhang Jun, president of the Supreme People's Court of China, in Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

During the course of discussions, Binh affirmed that the Vietnamese side always places great importance on the comprehensive strategic partnership that exists with China and is appreciative of the growing relationship between the two supreme courts over recent years.

He therefore thanked the Supreme People's Court of China for its close linkages, especially in terms of sharing information and documents related to judicial reform.

As a means of further boosting the supreme courts' collaboration, Binh suggested that the two sides strive to strengthen information sharing and exchange of experience on court building and judicial reform

Meanwhile, Zhang said that his agency remains read to join hands with its Vietnamese counterpart as part of efforts to fine-tune the two nations' judicial co-operation mechanism, thereby further contributing to deepening the joint comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership.

Following the conclusion of talks, the leaders of the two supreme courts witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memoranda of Understanding on co-operation between the Court of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the People's Courts of Vietnam's Lang Son and Quang Ninh provinces.
