Vietnamese and Bulgarian Deputy FMs compare notes on bilateral ties

VOV.VN - Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and her Bulgarian counterpart Tihomir Stoytchev discussed co-operation between the two foreign ministries, as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern, within the framework of the official visit to Bulgaria by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

During the meeting, Deputy FM Hang expressed her thanks to the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for effectively co-ordinating efforts with the Vietnamese sides to make the official visit to Bulgaria by NA Chairman Hue a great success.

Both sides agreed that the visit is of great significance, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship and multifaceted linkages that exist between the two countries to new heights.

The Vietnamese diplomat affirmed that the country will co-ordinate  efforts to effectively implement the agreements reached during this visit, including continuing to strengthen political trust between the two sides. This is along with maintaining high-level delegation exchanges, as well as stepping up collaboration in  economics - trade - investment, education and training, tourism, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and between various localities.

Regarding co-operation between the two foreign ministries, both sides highly appreciate the close and effective links that exists between the two ministries, consenting to conduct political consultations between the two foreign ministries ahead in 2024.

They will strive to strengthen direct co-operation between units of the two ministries, consider sending diplomatic officials from the two countries for exchanges and study opportunities, and continue to co-ordinate closely. This is along with supporting each other at international and regional forums, especially at the UN, the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), and the ASEAN-EU co-operation mechanism.

As part of the occasion, Deputy FM Hang thanked the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the people of Bulgaria for supporting and creating positive conditions for the Vietnamese community to stabilize their life, study, and conduct business. This has led to positive contributions to be made to the socio-economic development of the host nation, while simultaneously serving as a bridge for furthering ties.

Concerning regional and international issues of shared concern, Deputy FM Hang affirmed that Vietnam supports the resolution of conflicts and disputes by peaceful means on the basis of respect for independence, sovereignty and legitimate interests of nations in compliance with international law and the UN Charter.
