Vietnamese Ambassador’s visit to Nachod paves the way for stronger economic ties

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam recently visited Nachod city in the northeastern province of Hradec Králové at the invitation of Mayor Jan Birke with a view to ramping up local-level cooperation, deepening economic ties, and exploring new partnership opportunities between the two countries.

Mayor Birke expressed his admiration for the growing Vietnam-Czech relationship and emphasized the significance of its recent elevation to a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit last January. He noted that this milestone opens a new chapter in bilateral ties, reinforcing traditional cooperation, including locality-to-locality co-operation and people-to-people exchanges.

He called on Ambassador Nam to support efforts in connecting Nachod with Vietnamese localities, leveraging their respective strengths to expand investment and business opportunities for enterprises from both sides. He also praised the Vietnamese community’s contributions to the city’s development over the years.

Ambassador Nam underscored the crucial role of local partnerships and cultural exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations. He highlighted the growing interest of Vietnamese businesses in the Czech market, noting Nachod’s strategic position as a key transit hub in Central Europe.

According to Nam, several Vietnamese localities plan to send delegations to the Czech Republic in 2025. He affirmed his commitment to working closely with Nachod authorities to facilitate trade and investment promotion activities and urged local leaders to continue supporting the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the city.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Nam and Mayor Birke co-chaired a business roundtable with city officials and Vietnamese-Czech entrepreneurs. Nachod authorities presented investment opportunities in various sectors, including heritage conservation, textiles, rubber manufacturing, chemicals, water filtration, brewing, and real estate. Vietnamese business representatives showed particular interest in real estate and entertainment projects, and both sides agreed to advance cooperation through concrete investment initiatives.

During his time in Nachod, Ambassador Nam also met with the Vietnamese community, providing updates on Vietnam’s latest policies and encouraging them to continue contributing to both local development and Vietnam-Czech Republic ties.
