Vietnamese Ambassador outlines great appreciation of ties with Ukraine

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan has affirmed the country’s recognition of the great importance of its all-around co-operation and partnership with Ukraine.

The Vietnamese diplomat made the comments during a recent meeting held with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky upon participating in activities led by the Ukraine Foreign Ministry as part of the Kherson Regional State Administration for diplomatic corps based in the Eastern European country.

President Zelensky expressed his desire to visit Vietnam in the near future, or at the very least take part in an online meeting with Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, in order to discuss issues of shared concern.

During the occasion, Ambassador Tuan also had the chance to meet Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, during which he informed the Ukrainian politician about the sectors in which the country is keen to enhance ties between Ukraine and ASEAN.

Upon meeting Kherson Governor Yuriy Husyev, the Vietnamese diplomat put forward suggestions regarding a range of measures aimed at stepping up co-operation between Kherson and various Vietnamese localities.

Governor Husyev also briefed guests on several incentive policies that foreign businesses can enjoy, including those from the nation.

Furthermore, Ambassador Tuan has spent time holding working sessions with the executive boards of the overseas Vietnamese Associations of Kherson and Mykolaiv, during which he outlined the core role of the boards, the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection, and support of local people to overcome the novel coronavirus pandemic.
