Vietnam will successfully achieve 13th National Party Congress' goals: Cuban News Agency
VOV.VN - President To Lam will continue to maintain unity and solidarity whilst successfully implementing the goals and tasks set by the 13th National Party Congress, simultaneously seeking to reinforce the sound and exemplary traditional relationship between both nations’ people, Edda Diz Garcés, director general of Cuban News Agency (ACN), said in a recent media interview in Havana.
Assessing the priorities in Vietnamese foreign policy moving forward as outlined by newly-elected General Secretary and President To Lam, Garcés emphasised that this represents a strategic viewpoint that will certainly solidify the nation’s international position as a reference point in protecting the peaceful international environment, multilateralism, and integration for greater development. This is invaluable in a world facing a multidimensional crisis and one that is in dire need of balance, fairness, rationality, and exchanges on a more equal basis.
Regarding the fight against corruption in Vietnam, the ACN head said that Vietnamese anti-corruption efforts are necessary and should continue to be promoted. Indeed, the nation is an example of the fight against corruption taken at all levels with steadfastness, determination, and high transparency. These things show both strong will and perseverance. Thanks to these efforts, the country has produced results and achievements in sustainable national development across multiple fields.
Regarding Vietnamese successes in carrying out the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and a high average income by 2030 set in the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Garcés said she believes that, with continued strengthening of solidarity within the Party and Government and a comprehensive, transparent, and strong political system continuing the legacy of previous leaders, Vietnam will certainly succeed.
Garcés cited that recently UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his positive impression of the Vietnamese economic growth rate, despite facing regional difficulties, affirming that this represents an accomplishment of the policy set by the Communist Party of Vietnam and its leaders who are continuing to carry out the testament of beloved President Ho Chi Minh, which is to build the country "increasingly more dignified and beautiful".
The ACN leader outlined that Cuba will forever be grateful for the support, solidarity, good sentiments, and warm heart that Vietnam has given to the Cuban people during difficult times.
