Vietnam, Thailand cooperate in combating corruption

(VOV) - A Thai delegation from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) led by its President Phanthep Klanarongran is visiting Vietnam from August 4 to 10.

At a working session with the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GIV) in Hanoi on August 5, Inspector-General Huynh Phong Tranh affirmed that the two agencies have carried out many practical activities and shared experience in anti-corruption since they signed a cooperative agreement in February 2012.

Tranh expressed his hope that in the future, the NACC and the GIV will better implement signed agreements in line with strategic partnership between the two countries.

For his part, Phanthep said the two sides will share experience in publicizing property and income of State employees in an effort to root out corruption.

He invited Tranh to attend an ASEAN conference on anti-corruption in Thailand in December.

During their stay in Vietnam, the delegation will pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and work with the Inspectorate of Ho Chi Minh City.
