Vietnam, Russia hold high-level talks
VOV.VN - Talks were held between Vietnamese President To Lam and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on June 20 in Hanoi following a welcome ceremony held for the top Russian leader on the same day.
Talks between the pair aimed to evaluate the results of co-operation between the two countries in recent times and outline directions for further collaboration in the time ahead.
Within the framework of the visit, both nations’ leaders discussed and sketched out orientations for the comprehensive strategic partnership until 2030, while more clearly identifying key areas of co-operation, ranging from economics, trade, defence, security, energy, science and technology to education, culture, and citizen diplomacy.
Long-term goals and specific action plans will be set out in a bid to ensure the sustainable and effective development of bilateral relations in the future.
Furthermore, this visit is also an opportunity for both sides to sign and carry out new co-operation agreements, thereby creating greater motivation to propel bilateral relations forward. These agreements not only bring about economic benefits, but also serve to reinforce the political and strategic connection between the two countries.
In particular, amid an ever-changing international situation, the close partnership between Vietnam and Russia becomes more important than ever.
This visit by President Putin can therefore be viewed as an important milestone, marking the strong and sustainable development of the relationship between both sides, putting bilateral relations firmly on an open path towards a good future of loyal friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.
After the conclusion of talks, the two State leaders chaired a joint press conference, agreeing on a series of important issues relating to the relationship between the two countries.
