VOV.VN - Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on June 8 insisted that Vietnam’s policy consistently respects and ensures citizens' freedom of belief and religion while responding to reporters’ questions on the US Department of State's 2017 International Religious Freedom Report.
Belief and religious practices of people have been ensured and thousands of religious events and festivals are held annually. It is clearly stated in the 2013 Constitution and laws and are guaranteed and respected in reality, the official said.
Although the International Religious Freedom Report from 2017 has mentioned certain progress in promoting belief and religion in Vietnam, it still consists of biased assessment and quotes misinformation on Vietnam, she noted.
