Vietnam pledges to protect legitimate rights of RoK businesses
VOV.VN - Vietnam is committed to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of businesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK) that operate in compliance with the law, while listening to feedback and resolving challenges together.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the statement at a working session with RoK businesses in Hanoi on March 4, where representatives from RoK businesses and associations congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements in recent years and recognized the country as a bright spot for global economic growth.
They also highly appreciated Vietnam’s improving business environment, which has made it an attractive investment destination.
The participants put forward various recommendations to the Vietnamese Government and the Prime Minister on issues related to administrative procedures, taxation, customs clearance, stable power supply, science and technology, biotechnology, and human resources development. They also expressed their desire to expand investments in Vietnam across sectors such as electronics, semiconductors, home appliances, energy, green technology, logistics, culture, and food, with major corporations like LG, Samsung, Lotte, and CJ among the interested investors.
Representatives from Vietnamese ministries and agencies provided responses to the concerns raised by RoK enterprises during the meeting.
The Vietnamese cabinet leader expressed his gratitude to RoK businesses for standing by Vietnam through both prosperous and challenging times, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they not only continued their investments but also contributed to social welfare progammes.
He welcomed the candid insights and aspirations shared by RoK companies, viewing them as a testament to the trust and understanding between the two sides.
Regarding Vietnam-RoK relations, PM Chinh emphasized the strong foundation of solidarity, trust, and mutual understanding that has shaped their partnership. He noted that RoK businesses have steadily increased their investments in Vietnam, bringing benefits to both nations.
He also shared Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2024 and outlined the country’s development policies for 2025 and beyond. According to him, Vietnam is pursuing three strategic breakthroughs: institutional reform, infrastructure development, and high-quality human resource training. Simultaneously, the government is streamlining its administrative apparatus, cutting intermediary steps, simplifying procedures, and reducing costs for businesses and citizens.
Additionally, Vietnam is prioritizing the development of green, digital, circular, and knowledge-based economies, as well as biotechnology, cultural industries, and environmental protection. The overarching approach is to establish open institutions, seamless infrastructure, and smart governance.
The Government leader stressed that Vietnam aims for rapid, large-scale, high-quality, and sustainable development without compromising environmental protection or social welfare. The ultimate goal is to ensure national security, political stability, and an increasingly prosperous and happy life for its people.
He called on RoK businesses to increase their contributions by advising Vietnam on achieving fast yet sustainable growth, just as RoK has done successfully. He also encouraged them to give advice on institutional reforms to ensure a more business-friendly environment.
Furthermore, he urged RoK enterprises to expand their operations in Vietnam and position the country as a key production and investment hub, helping Vietnam integrate more deeply into global supply chains, diversify markets and products, transfer technology, and develop high-quality human resources. This includes both training and upskilling local workers, as well as assisting in modernizing Vietnam’s administrative management.
Particularly, PM Chinh welcomed investment in cultural and creative industries, biotechnology, green technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors.
Vietnam remains committed to standing alongside RoK businesses by sharing ideas, visions, and actions. ‘We must think big, look far, and act decisively,’ he emphasized. The country will continue to ensure the legitimate rights of RoK businesses, listen to their feedback, and work together to address challenges for stronger and more effective cooperation.
He concluded that investment must generate growth, bring shared benefits, and foster maturity. ‘Based on our comprehensive strategic partnership, we must work together, win together, and share the rewards.” Chinh added.
