VOV.VN -  President Tran Dai Quang has underlined the importance of protecting industrial property, ensuring fair competition, and encouraging creativity via the Civil Code.

At a reception for Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Hanoi on March 31, President Quang stated that Vietnam will  create all possible conditions for the intellectual property system to grow, adding that intellectual property plays an important role in helping Vietnam realize its projected average economic growth of between 6.5% and 7% by 2020.

"Vietnam wants favorable conditions to participate further in WIPO institutions and increased technical cooperation with the organization, particularly in devising a national strategy on intellectual property.

Francis Gurry praised the fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and WIPO and said that WIPO hopes for closer ties in the future," Quang told his guest.
