Vietnam, New Zealand foster defence ties
Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh met with New Zealand Ambassador Maike Manning on March 6 to discuss preparations for his upcoming working visit to New Zealand.
They compared notes on a number of issues of mutual concern and highlighted the results of cooperation in training Vietnamese military officers.
They agreed on the need for experience sharing, especially in joining United Nations peace-keeping forces.
Thanh expressed his hope that Manning will contribute to further strengthening bilateral
ties and comprehensive cooperation in the field of military and national defence.
