Vietnam keen to deepen fraternal solidarity with Cuba

VOV.VN - Vietnam aspires to deepen the close-knit, trusted and exemplary fraternal solidarity with Cuba, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a reception in Hanoi on June 16 for Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Manuel Silveira Martínez.

PM Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the Cuban Justice Minister's visit at the right time for the two countries to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam, and 50 years since Fidel Castro's first visit to Vietnam and to the Liberation Zone of South Vietnam.

Reviewing the history of the special relationship, tradition, friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, PM Chinh expressed his gratitude to the Party and State, and the people of Vietnam for Cuba's support and assistance.

He expressed his belief that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, led by Miguel Diaz Canel, the Cuban people will surely overcome all difficulties and challenges and notch up  even greater victories in his noble career.

He affirmed Vietnam’s willingness to share experience of its ‘Doi moi’ (Renewal) process, including the building and improvement of the legal system, and judicial reform, with the Cuban side.

Vietnam will do its utmost to support Cuba in its capacity, and willingly share experiences it has gained, both on issues that have been done well or not,  the Vietnamese Government leader emphasized.

Hailing the outcomes of the talks between the two justice ministers, PM Chinh welcomed the Vietnamese side’s proposal of building a project of technical assistance to the Cuban Ministry of Justice in law making, in order to meet its needs in organising the implementation of the 2019 Constitution.

The Vietnamese Government always create optimal conditions for ministries and sectors, including the Ministry of Justice, to tighten bilateral relations with the Cuban Ministry of Justice in order to help each other in legal and judicial works.

PM Chinh suggested the two sides continue offering mutual support at international organisations and multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.

He asked the Caribbean nation to create favourable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies for Vietnamese legal entities and individuals in Cuba to stabilise their lives, production and business, and pay attention to solving difficulties for Vietnamese enterprises investing in the country.

In response, Minister Oscar Manuel Slivera Martinez said that his nation always places importance on its special and traditional relations, and all-around cooperation with Vietnam, and thanked the country for its assistance, especially in judicial affairs and law-making.

Agreeing with PM Chinh’s ideas, he expressed his hope that Vietnam will maintain support for, and encourage its ministries and sectors to boost cooperation with Cuba in these fields, especially in the application of information technology, digital transformation and human resources training.
