Vietnam joins Canada’s leading defence, security exhibition
VOV.VN - A delegation from the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam led by Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defence Industry, attended CANSEC 2024, Canada’s military equipment trade show that transpired in Ottawa on May 29-30.
At the event, the Vietnamese delegation gained a better insight into the product development trends, technological advances, and solutions in the defence sector of countries around the world, enabling it to make advice to the Ministry of National Defence in building and developing the domestic defence industry.
The show offered a chance for Vietnam to learn the way to hold a defence exhibition serving the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 slated for December 19-22, to which the delegation took the occasion to invite international businesses to attend.
Held by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), CANSEC is the largest international defence and security exhibition in Canada, which has been organised annually since 1998.
The exhibition introduces modern, leading technologies, alongside products and services for the army, navy, air force, aerospace and joint forces.
CANSEC is also viewed as a place to introduce technologies and products for rapid response forces, border management agencies and special operations forces.
This year’s event featured 280 booths from leading firms such as Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Hanwha, CAE, General Dynamics, and Thales and attracted 250 international delegations and roughly 4,500 visitors.
