Vietnam expresses deep concern over US indictment against former Cuban leader

VOV.VN - Vietnam has expressed deep concern over the criminal indictment issued by the US Department of Justice against General Raúl Castro, calling for constructive dialogue based on respect for international law, sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.

Responding to reporters’ questions on May 22, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said Vietnam strongly reaffirmed its solidarity and traditional friendship with the brotherly Cuban people and again called for the implementation of United Nations General Assembly resolutions demanding an end to the unilateral embargo against Cuba.

“Vietnam is deeply concerned about the judicial measure taken by the US Department of Justice in issuing a criminal indictment against former First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and former President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Raúl Castro,” Hang said.
