Vietnam eager to bolster all-round cooperation with Kuwait

(VOV) -President Truong Tan Sang expressed his nation's wish to further strengthen friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Kuwait at a reception for outgoing Ambassador to Vietnam Hamad Saleh Al-Jutaili on October 6 in Hanoi.

President Sang suggested both countries should intensify high-level visit exchanges and extended his invitation to Kuwait’s Emir to visit Vietnam in the coming time.

He proposed that the two countries support each other at international forums and asked Kuwait to offer favorable conditions for Vietnamese products to enter its market.

The State leader told his guest that Vietnam welcomes Kuwaiti businesses to invest in the country in the areas of oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure development.

Vietnam backs Kuwait’s candidacy to the UN Security Council in the 2018-2019 tenure while Kuwait supports Vietnam’s candidacy to the 2016-2018 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the 2020-2021 UN Security Council, he added.

The Kuwaiti diplomat in turn used the occasion to thank Vietnamese ministries and sectors for supporting him to carry out his working tenure in Vietnam and expressed his belief that cooperation between the two countries will expand, particularly in investment.

He said his nation wants to receive more Vietnamese workers and provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students, reiterating the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's readiness to help Vietnam with humanitarian projects.
