Vietnam desires stronger cooperation with Mexico on 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Van Hai He reiterated Vietnam’s desire to further strengthen its relationship with Mexico at a ceremony on March 19 to present his credentials from President Luong Cuong to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Claudia Sheinbaum extended her cordial greetings to Party General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and other Vietnamese Party and State leaders.
She also expressed admiration for Vietnam’s past struggles for national liberation and reunification, as well as its achievements in national renewal under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Congratulating Vietnam on its proud milestones in national development, President Sheinbaum expressed her wish for both sides to continue beefing up cooperation across a variety of areas, particularly in light of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Mexico diplomatic relations (May 19, 1975 – May 19, 2025).
During the meeting, President Sheinbaum warmly congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai on his appointment as Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico, hoping that he will successfully fulfill his term and contribute to further propelling bilateral relations forward.
For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai expressed his honor in assuming the role and affirmed his commitment to making every effort to further promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
He conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of President Luong Cuong and senior Vietnamese leaders to President Sheinbaum, while affirming that Vietnam highly values its relations with Latin American countries, with Mexico playing a particularly important role.
The Vietnamese diplomat also ujnderlined Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, as well as its commitment to diversifying and multilateralizing external relations. He reiterated Vietnam’s desire to further strengthen its relationship with Mexico in the time ahead.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai conveyed an invitation from President Luong Cuong to President Claudia Sheinbaum to visit Vietnam.
