Vietnam, Denmark share legislative experience

VOV.VN - A roundtable discussion between Vietnamese and Danish lawmakers on the National Assembly deputies’ experience in legislative and oversight work, and the role of parliamentarians in international commitments, is underway in Ninh Binh province on September 20-21.

Eva Kjer Hansen, Head of the visiting Danish parliamentarian delegation expressed delight at the long-lasting cooperation between the Danish Parliament and the Vietnam National Assembly, and underlined the importance of lawmaking and supervision for the countries’ legislative bodies.

Pham Dinh Toan, Deputy Head of the NA Office, said the discussion gave a good chance to Vietnamese NA deputies, especially those joining the NA for the first time, to learn from their Danish counterparts who have a great deal of experience in the field.

The event took place in conjunction with a cross-party Danish parliamentary delegation’s visit to Vietnam.

During their stay in Vietnam, the Danish delegation will pay a courtesy visit to National Assembly leaders and work with the National Assembly Committee on Science, Technology, and the Environment.

They will also visit Kim Lan ceramics village where Denmark supports an energy efficiency project and a joint project between Danish Anne Black A/S and Vietnam’s Phomex company in Bat Trang Ceramics Village.

The Vietnamese NA is one of the parliaments in Asia having cooperation with the Danish Parliament in the framework of the Good Governance and Public Administration Reform Programme (GOPA).
