Vietnam, Cuba toast enduring friendship at Caracas gathering

The Vietnam - Cuba friendship exchange, co-hosted by the Vietnamese and Cuban embassies in Venezuela, once again highlighted the enduring solidarity that has bound the two nations through decades of shared struggle and global outreach.

Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Trung My, in his address, reflected on the establishment of diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960, a pivotal moment that forged a transcontinental bond. That milestone, he said, laid the groundwork for a friendship that has blossomed into a vital source of spiritual strength for both peoples.

He voiced confidence that under the Communist Party of Cuba’s leadership, the Cuban people would overcome challenges and reap more successes in building and defending their socialist homeland.

Recent coordination between the two embassies in Venezuela stands as a testament to the close, trustworthy, and resilient cooperation entrusted by the two parties and states, he said.

Cuban Ambassador to Venezuela Dagoberto Rodríguez noted that in world history, few relationships are as exceptional as that of Vietnam and Cuba. From José Martí and President Ho Chi Minh to Fidel Castro, generations of revolutionary leaders have sown and cultivated the seeds of friendship that is now an invaluable spiritual asset for both nations.

Diplomats and staff from both embassies raised their glasses in a heartfelt toast to the enduring solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states, and peoples, wishing it would stay strong for generations to come.
