Vietnam, Cuba hold defence policy dialogue

VOV.VN - On July 21, the Vietnam Defence Ministry and Cuba’s Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) co-hosted a defence policy dialogue in Havana to outline orientations for their broader cooperation towards the signing of a cooperation plan in the future.

Both sides consented to bolster links between the two agencies in a more practical and effective fashion.

They noted their joy at the fruitful defence connection between the two nations in recent times, hoping that the links will become a crucial factor behind the time-honoured Vietnam-Cuba relations.

Deputy Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh reiterated Vietnam's desire to further strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two armies and between the two Parties, States and people.

MINFAR Minister Senior Lieutenant General Leopoldo Cintra Frias in turn assured that his nation values its friendship with Vietnam and used the occasion to convey his invitation to Vietnamese Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich to visit Cuba.

The two sides also discussed measures to promote bilateral defence ties and the impacts of global and regional issues on their respective country’s security and defence.
