Vietnam confident of future growth in relations with Algeria

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh expressed his firm belief in the future growth of mutual ties between Vietnam and Algeria across a variety fields at a recent ceremony held to mark Vietnam’s 77th National Day, which first occurred on September 2, 1945, in Algeria.

The Vietnamese diplomat also showed his delight at the countries’ long-time traditional friendship and increasingly close co-operation, noting that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Talking to over 200 guests, the diplomat recalled events which gave birth to the country and its development into a dynamic economy, particularly its rapid post-pandemic recovery efforts.

In the first seven months of the year Vietnamese import-export value exceeded US$431 billion, an annual increase of 14.8%.

Furthermore, foreign direct investments poured into the country during this period, amounting to roughly US$11.57 billion, up 10.2% on-year.  

Ambassador Vinh used the occasion to thank governments and peoples worldwide, including those of Algeria, for their staunch support for Vietnam in its struggle for independence, as well as its national construction and development.

The ceremony featured an exhibition showcasing Vietnamese landscapes, people, and culture.
