Vietnam Coast Guard vessel pays first visit to India

VOV.VN - Vessel 8001 from the High Command of Vietnam Coast Guard, Zone 3, led by Vice Commander Sen. Lt. Col. Nguyen Minh Khanh docked at Chennai port on October 2, beginning its first visit to India at the invitation of Rear Admiral Paramesh, Commander of the Indian Coast Guard Eastern Region. 

During the October 2-6 visit, the Vietnamese coast guard delegation will pay a courtesy visit to the Command of the Indian Coast Guard Eastern Region, visit Chennai search and rescue centre to share experience in legal enforcement at sea and piracy prevention, and hold cultural and sports exchanges with their Indian counterparts. 

Earlier on October 1 in New Delhi, the Vietnam Coast Guard and Indian Coast Guard held high-level talks on bilateral cooperation in maritime security and safety, during which both sides concurred to step up cooperation in line with terms of a memorandum of understanding and share experience in operational management.
