VOV.VN - Vietnam Coast Guard ship CBS 8001 departed Indonesia on August 29, marking the successful completion of its friendly visit, exchanges, and experience-sharing activities with the Indonesian Coast Guard.

A farewell ceremony at Tanjung Priok Port was attended by Rear Admiral Ivan Gatot Prijanto, Head of Training Department of the Indonesian Coast Guard; Vietnamese Defence Attaché in Indonesia, Colonel Nguyen Tuan Duc and representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia.
At the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Tran Dong, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Region 3 and head of the delegation, thanked the Indonesian Coast Guard (Bakamla) for their warm reception and effective cooperation during the visit. He highlighted that these activities strengthened friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust between the Vietnam and Indonesian Coast Guards.
Rear Admiral Ivan Gatot Prijanto appreciated the results of CBS 8001’s mission and expressed hope for more practical and effective joint activities between the two forces in the future.
During the visit from August 25 to 29, the delegation met with Vice Admiral Irvansyah, Commander of the Indonesian Coast Guard, and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo. Both sides underscored the importance of promoting cooperation, particularly between maritime law enforcement forces in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Given their shared maritime border, enhancing collaboration in maritime security and safety is highly significant, especially amid recent rising tensions at sea.
Within the visit framework, CBS 8001’s crew also participated in sports exchanges with Indonesian Coast Guard personnel, visited cultural sites in Jakarta, and conducted coordinated training exercises at sea.
