Vietnam Coast Guard Vessel CBS 8001 on friendly visit to Indonesia
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s most modern coast guard vessel, CBS 8001, arrived at Tanjung Priok Port in Indonesia on the morning of August 25, as part of a program to exchange experiences and ramp up cooperation with the Indonesian Coast Guard.

The visit is regarded as a significant milestone that contributes to strengthening maritime cooperation and enhancing coordination to ensure security and safety at sea between the two countries.
Welcoming the CBS 8001 delegation were Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN; Vice Admiral of the Indonesian Navy; Commissioner General Irvansyah, Commander of the Indonesian Coast Guard; representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia; the Office of the Vietnamese Defense Attaché in Indonesia; and officers and soldiers of the Indonesian Coast Guard.
In his remarks, Commissioner General Irvansyah expressed his pleasure at receiving the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation in Indonesia for exchanges and experience-sharing. He noted that this port call forms part of the bilateral cooperation framework and serves as a foundation for both sides to establish a balanced, common model in promoting maritime security, safety, and regional stability. The visit also represents an important opportunity for the two sides to further consolidate the foundation of their maritime partnership.
Leaders of the Vietnamese delegation invited Commissioner General Irvansyah and Indonesian coast guard personnel to tour the CBS 8001 and were introduced to the vessel’s facilities and equipment.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Colonel Nguyen Tran Dong, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Region 3, is on a working visit to Indonesia from August 25 to 29. The program features a range of key activities, including courtesy calls on local leaders, a bilateral meeting with the Indonesian Coast Guard, sports exchanges, and cultural visits in Jakarta.
Notably, the two sides will hold a joint at-sea exercise to improve coordination in search and rescue operations and step up efforts to ensure maritime security in the waters of both nations and the wider region.
