Vietnam-China cooperation contributes to regional and global stability
VOV.VN - Chinese experts and businesses have shown strong interest in the State visit to China by Party General Secretary and President To Lam. In their view, deeper cooperation between the two countries not only creates opportunities for bilateral trade, investment and economic ties, but also contributes to stability in the region and the world.
Professor Qu Qiang of Minzu University of China said that, following a series of high-level visits between the two countries since 2022, the current visit shows that interaction between the two Parties and the two countries has entered a new historical phase marked by greater frequency, deeper interaction and a higher level.
“With this visit in 2026, a mechanism of regular annual meetings has initially been established. This indicates that the institutional framework of relations between China and Vietnam, between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), as two countries and two fraternal parties, has basically taken shape. I believe this is a very important new way of framing relations between the two countries,” he said.
According to him, the visit will play an important role in shaping bilateral relations and cooperation across many fields in the coming period, as it takes place while China begins implementing its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), and Vietnam has just successfully held the 14th National Party Congress, completed the state apparatus, and set out a new development roadmap with a range of plans and strategic goals.
Qu stressed that in a changing and uncertain world, both countries’ efforts to maintain political and social stability, focus on economic development and work together to achieve their set goals also contribute to peace and stability in the region and the world.
“If China and Vietnam can strengthen communication and coordination, this will bring a sense of reassurance and stability to the region and even the world. I think this is also an important indication that meetings between the top leaders of the two countries carry both bilateral and regional significance, as well as global significance,” he said.
CETC Think Tank, a Beijing-based consulting firm with nearly 4,000 member entities, sees Vietnam’s strong development as an opportunity. Wu Yanzhong, the company’s chairman and secretary-general, said member firms have recently shown growing interest in Vietnam and do not want to miss the emerging wave of investment opportunities.

Wu Yanzhong, the company’s Chairman and Secretary-General, said member firms have recently shown growing interest in Vietnam and do not want to miss a new wave of investment taking shape.
He said the visit by General Secretary and President To Lam further strengthens CETC’s confidence and determination to enter the Vietnamese market.
“We are very much looking forward to this visit. More of our member companies now want to invest in Vietnam. The visit not only strengthens trust between the two countries, but also helps us better understand Vietnam. We have identified Southeast Asia as a key focus in the coming years, particularly Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore. We also plan to send member companies to Vietnam or Indonesia for market surveys this year to promote bilateral cooperation and development,” Wu said.
Experts and the Chinese business community interested in Vietnam have broadly welcomed the visit. Recent strong reforms and firm resolve for development have shown them a Vietnam making breakthroughs and deepening integration, along with vast potential and room for cooperation between the two sides.
