Vietnam attends meeting of ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee

VOV.VN - Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang, permanent representative of Vietnam to ASEAN, attended the second meeting of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) in 2022 on July 6 in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.

The purpose of the meeting was to acknowledge the positive progress made in realizing all five strategic areas and 14 out of the 15 initiatives of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 (MPAC 2025).

Participants used the event to discuss preparations for the fourth annual report on the progress of MPAC 2025 and the organisation of the four meetings of ACCC in September 2022 in Cambodia.

Moving forward, ASEAN will focus on mobilising resources and support of partners as it speeds up the implementation of projects in strategic areas.

Those in attendance agreed to come together to underscore the need to continue stepping up the information promotion and dissemination about the content and benefits of MPAC 2025, as well as its communication strategy in the second half of the year.

They also agreed on the necessity of encouraging the synchronous participation of ASEAN's specialised agencies in implementing MPAC 2025 projects, as well as enhancing co-ordination mechanisms in performing the MPAC 2025 with initiatives to connect the region and the bloc’s partner countries.
