Vietnam attends 7th meeting of ICAPP Youth Wing in Ulaanbaatar

VOV.VN - A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee‘s Commission for External Relations attended the 7th Meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Youth Wing which is underway from February 23-26 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to promote dialogue and exchange methods for young people to participate in socio-political activities.

This year's event was hosted by the ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP), featuring the participation of 47 delegates from 18 political parties from 12 Asian countries along with nearly 100 Mongolian young delegates.

This is a successful continuation of the sixth ICAPP Youth Wing Meeting and the seventh meeting of ICAPP's Women's Wing held in Mongolia in August, 2023.

The parties focused on discussing the various advantages and disadvantages of young people in participating in political activities and parliaments of countries, sharing their experience and practical solutions aimed at promoting youth participation as part of socio-political life.

This is along with working to support training, finance, healthcare, job creation, and start-up opportunities, especially in terms of encouraging young people to take the lead in the fields of science - technology, innovation, and creativity.

At the end of the discussion sessions, the meeting issued the "Ulan Bator Declaration", affirming the solidarity of political parties in promoting the role of youth in political activities and social development, as well as pledging to increase the participation rate of young people in parliaments in the coming time.

While attending this event, the Vietnamese delegation had meetings with Chung Eui-yong, chairman of the ICAPP, Kwon Hee-seog, secretary general of the ICAPP, and discussed measures to ramp up ties between the CPV with ICAPP in the near future.

It also held working sessions with representatives of the ruling Mongolian People's Party and the Mongolian Democratic Party to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations to mark the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2024.

​Leaders of ICAPP, Mongolian political parties, and many parties from other countries attending the meeting highly appreciated Vietnamese socio-economic development and foreign affairs achievements in recent years, while expressing their recognition of the CPV’s positive contributions to the overall success of ICAPP. They also affirmed their recognition of the importance and readiness to enhance friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with Vietnam in the coming time.
