Vietnam affirms consistent viewpoint on Golan Heights situation

Minister Counsellor Nguyen Phuong Tra, Deputy Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), affirmed Vietnam’s consistent standpoint on the situation in the Golan Heights during a consultation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on December 8.

She voiced her concern over the vulnerable security situation and risks of escalating tensions amid violations of the Disengagement of Forces Agreement.

Vietnam called on stakeholders to restrain and respect the UN Charter, UNSC Resolution and relevant agreements so as to ensure peace and stability in the Golan Heights in particular and the region at large.
