VFF President concludes visit to RoK

VOV.VN -  A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) led by its President Nguyen Thien Nhan has concluded their 3-day working visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).

During the visit, the VFF leader met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Korea, visited Incheon Free economic Zone and Incheon Metropolitan Smart City Center, as well as chaired a seminar on achievements of Vietnam’s 30-year Doi Moi (renewal) in Sejong city.

He paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-Ahn who called on Vietnam to continue to facilitate Korean businesses which have already or will invest in Vietnam to operate effectively.

The VFF President hailed the RoK government’s position regarding the East Sea issue, particularly its support of the settlement of disputes by peaceful means with respect for international law and without militarisation.

He suggested Seoul should support Vietnam in infrastructure development and cyber security worker training.

He noted that as a signatory of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Vietnam consistently advocates peace, stability and non-nuclearisation on the Korean Peninsula and said he hopes concerned parties refrain from taking actions that can intensify tension and promote dialogue to seek a peaceful solution to issues on the Korean Peninsula, thus contributing to maintaining peace, stability in the region and the world as a whole.
