US considered one of Vietnam's top important partners

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hosted a January 10 reception in Hanoi for former US Secretary of State John Kerry, currently on a two-day visit to Vietnam. 

Deputy PM Minh reiterated Vietnam's unwavering policy of respecting its relations of friendship and long term, stable, and practical cooperation with the US, considering the US one of Vietnam’s leading important partners on the basis of respecting each other's political institutions. 

He said Vietnam has prioritized cooperation with the US in energy, education, the environment, climate change adaptation, and water source protection.

The host showed his delight to see the US-funded Fulbright University Vietnam enter into operation. 

Kerry for his part pledged 
to continue promoting Vietnam – US ties in the future.

Vietnam boasts potential for developing clean and renewable energy in the form of public-private partnership, he said while displaying his willingness to support Vietnam in the area through connecting the country with potential partners and sharing experience. 

He said he believes that the Fulbright University Vietnam will contribute to the training of high-quality human resources in Vietnam.
