US backs strong, prosperous, independent, resilient Vietnam

VOV.VN - US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken on September 1 (Hanoi time) extended his best wishes to the Vietnamese Government and people on the occasion of the country’s 78th National Day (September 2).

The US supports a strong, prosperous, independent, and resilient Vietnam, Secretary Blinken affirmed, adding that the US side cherishes the partnership that exists between the two countries’ governments and people which has been built together. He therefore looks forward to working together on priorities that further their shared goal of a prosperous, open, resilient, and peaceful Indo-Pacific Region.

He also said in a media statement put out by the Department of State that he looks forward to President Biden’s historic visit to Hanoi on September 10 to celebrate what the two countries have achieved together and to plan for their shared future.
