Truong Thi Mai relieved from position of NA deputy

The National Assembly Standing Committee convened a meeting on May 16 to consider and decide on the cessation of duties for Truong Thi Mai, a deputy from the Hoa Binh delegation for the 15th NA, according to a press release from the NA Secretary General.

Based on the Constitution, the Law on NA Organisation and relevant legal regulation; opinions of competent authorities; a report from the Board of NA Deputy Affairs; and considering Mai’s resignation request dated May 13, the committee discussed, cast secret ballot, and issued a Resolution ceasing her duties as a member of the 15th NA from Hoa Binh province’s NA deputy delegation, electoral unit No.02, which includes the districts of Kim Boi, Cao Phong, Lac Son, Lac Thuy, and Yen Thuy.

The same day, the Party Central Committee also considered ceasing all positions held by Mai, a member of the Politburo and the 13th Party Central Committee.
