He emphasized that the visit coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1971-2026), marking an important milestone in bilateral friendship and cooperation.
King Frederik X shared fond memories and deep affection for Vietnam from his previous visits in 2009, 2011, and 2022, highlighting the special connection between the Danish Royal Family and Vietnam, including cherished memories of living in Hanoi of his father-late Prince Henrik.

He stressed that Vietnam deeply appreciates the valuable support Denmark has provided since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1971, throughout national reconstruction and development, as well as in the current process of Doi Moi (Renewal), international integration, and green transition.
Both leaders agreed on a high evaluation of the positive growth in bilateral relations, particularly since establishing the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.
Economic, trade, and investment ties continue to expand, with major Danish corporations such as LEGO, Pandora, and Carlsberg operating and growing in Vietnam, making positive contributions to socio-economic development, job creation, technology transfer, and sustainable green growth. To Lam hailed King Frederik X's important contributions to boosting Vietnam-Denmark ties.
The King's visit in 2011 as Crown Prince on the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, and his 2022 visit with Crown Princess Mary (now Queen Mary) leading a Danish business delegation to promote green transition cooperation, created momentum for bilateral ties and laid the groundwork for establishing the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.
Top leader To Lam expressed deep appreciation for the affection, care, and positive contributions of the King, Queen, and Danish Royal Family to bilateral ties.
King Frederik X concurred with Top leader To Lam's proposals to leverage complementary strengths and beef up cooperation in economics, trade, investment, science-technology, innovation, energy transition, green economy, maritime economy, education-training, and people-to-people exchanges.
He expressed hope that the King will continue to support and encourage Danish enterprises and organizations to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam.
Both sides shared that alongside practical cooperative benefits, bilateral relations are nurtured by friendship, trust, and close-knit ties between both nations’ people across generations.
