Sub-committee on 14th Party Congress personnel convenes second meeting
VOV.VN - The sub-committee on personnel work for the 14th National Party Congress convened its second meeting on August 21 in Hanoi under the chair of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and State President To Lam, head of the subcommittee.
Those in attendance include Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member Luong Cuon, standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat; Politburo member Tran Cam Tu, secretary of the Party Central Committee and chairman of the committee’s inspection commission; along with others.
They discussed a draft report on the review of the 13th Party Central Committee’s personnel and orientations for the 14th Party Central Committee’s personnel work, a draft proposal to the Politburo on the review of the personnel work of the 13th Party Central Committee and the building of the orientations for that of the 14th Party Central Committee, as well as a draft proposal to the Politburo on the orientations for the personnel work of the 14th Party Central Committee.
In his speech, To Lam underscored the significance and role of personnel work and personnel preparation for the 14th National Party Congress, while also affirming they must inherit the ideology, as well as major and specific orientations of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The personnel work must be carried out in an urgent and prudent manner, ensuring solidarity and unity in the Party, as well as the maintenance of the Party’s leadership and ruling role, he went on to say.
Members of the Party Central Committee must have adequate capacity and prestige among the people and within the Party.
Meanwhile, the personnel preparation must assure the direct, comprehensive, regular, close, and democratic leadership of the Party Central Committee, Politburo, Secretariat, and Party Committees and Organizations; as well as putting the interests of the Party, nation, and people first and foremost, he emphasized.
The top Vietnamese leader also asked members of the subcommittee to direct the work and give opinions on important tasks.
