State leader visits Vietnamese Embassy, OV community in Chile
VOV.VN - State President Luong Cuong and his delegation visited Vietnamese Embassy and and Vietnamese community representatives in Chile on November 9 evening (local time) within the framework of their official visit to the Latin American nation.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Nguyen Viet Cuong reported to President Luong Cuong on the activities of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community living and working in Chile. The Ambassador said that the embassy staff always maintain a spirit of solidarity, devote themselves to their work and the common goals of the nation, and always play a bridging role in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He pledged to well carry out foreign affairs, bolster cooperation in national defence, economy and trade, while building a united representative agency as a contribution to the development of the Vietnam-Chile friendship and cooperative relations.
President Luong Cuong hailed the efforts and achievements of the embassy as well as the overseas Vietnamese community in implementing the Party and State’s foreign policy as a means of boosting the continued development of the Vietnam-Chile comprehensive partnership.
Regarding the situation in the home country, the Vietnamese State leader affirmed that despite complicated global political and economic developments, Vietnam, under the Party's leadership, has maintained macro-economic stability, controlled inflation, ensured major balances of the national economy and socio-politic stability and strengthened national defence-security. The country has firmly protected its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, with foreign affairs increasingly promoted and obtaining many positive results.
The Party and State always care for and consider the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part, a resource of the Vietnamese nation and an important contributory factor in reinforcing the ties of cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and other countries, Luong Cuong emphasized, while requesting the embassy to continue to promote its role as a bridge to deepen the Vietnam-Chile relations.
He asked the embassy to continue to synchronously implement activities of political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and community work, with priorities being given to enhancing the role of advising, accompanying and supporting the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation programmes and projects between the two nations.
The Vietnamese State leader asked the embassy to continue building a united, transparent and strong Party organisation and representative agency, and acting as a solid bridge between Vietnam and Chile and friends in Latin America.
The embassy was also requested to thoroughly grasp Party and State guidelines and policies, and direct instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to carry out well the functions and duties in the South America nation.
The President Cuong said he hopes that the embassy will provide timely support for overseas Vietnamese in the country of residence and the Vietnamese community in Chile, despite its modest number, will always stay united, maintain close relations, keep regular contact and enthusiastically become involved in activities towards the home country.
