Spokesperson expresses opinion on rescue flight incident

VOV.VN - Le Thi Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed her views during a routine press briefing held on October 6 following fresh developments relating to the role of diplomats in rescue flights.

This comes after Hang said the Ministry of Public Security had more information relating to the case, adding that the Ministry had suspended the work of individuals involved to serve the investigation process.

The Ministry has therefore closely co-operated with competent agencies in order to clarify the case, handle the right people, and correct violations in accordance with the law.

“The consistent stance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is that all diplomats must strictly abide by guidelines, policies and regulations of the State. All violations of the law must be handled according to the provisions of the law, without prohibited areas," the official said.

The spokesperson added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Vietnamese units and representative agencies abroad to strengthen political, ideological, ethical, and lifestyle education for cadres and staff, along with reviewing and completing the work processing process, while ensuring that the process is tight, efficient, and transparent.

This will serve to create favourable conditions for administrative procedures, consular work, and citizen protection in order to strictly and fully implement inspection in accordance with regulations of the Party and State.

"We have also asked each unit, cadre, and employee to strengthen administrative discipline, responsibility, and ethics in public service for officers and employees. We have also encouraged cadres and employees to maintain the tradition of diplomacy, and uphold the sense of responsibility to overcome difficulties in order to fulfil all tasks assigned by the Party and the people,” Hang added.
