Special art programme honours President Ho Chi Minh’s 135th birthday

VOV.VN - A special art programme at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi has gathered top Vietnamese leaders to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 135th birthday, evoking national pride and reverence for the beloved leader across the country.

Party General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, along with leaders of centrally-run agencies, ministries, and a large number of Hanoi residents attended a special art programme on the evening of May 18 at Ba Dinh Square to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).

The event was co-organised by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilisation, in collaboration with the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Guard High Command. It formed part of a wide array of cultural and artistic activities aimed at raising public awareness and gaining deeper insights into President Ho Chi Minh’s great contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause.

Combining historical footage, stage reenactments and contemporary musical performances, the programme stirred deep emotions from its opening acts, inspiring millions of Vietnamese people watching live and via television with a sense of sacred pride and admiration for the late President. It featured both timeless songs about Uncle Ho and the Party, as well as newly composed pieces delivered by young performers with a fresh, vibrant style.

In the final act of the program, the message resonated clearly that President Ho Chi Minh’s name embodies the sacred soul of the nation, and he inscribed the words “Vietnam – independence, freedom, happiness” on the world map. His life, legacy and vision continue to serve as a powerful source of motivation on Vietnam’s path towards prosperity and national development.

Through heartfelt performances and touching stories, the programme vividly portrayed the image of a brilliant leader, a great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, a national liberation hero, and an outstanding figure of world culture. It also contributed to promoting patriotism, revolutionary ideals, and the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh among officials, Party members, and the wider public, especially the younger generation.

In doing so, it helped reinforce national solidarity and gather internal strength in the cause of national development, defence and international integration.

In his latest article titled “You still march with us, Uncle Ho,” Party General Secretary To Lam once again affirmed that the President’s birthday is a meaningful occasion for each Vietnamese citizen to reflect on their responsibility to the nation and the people. The more we honour Uncle Ho, he wrote, the more committed we must be to realising his wishes and turning his dreams into reality.

He further emphasised that the entire Party, armed forces, and people are determined to follow the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho, with a strong resolve to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with global powers, worthy of the boundless devotion of our beloved leader. This, he stressed, is the sacred truth that has entered history: “President Ho Chi Minh lives forever in our cause!”

With its carefully curated content and artistic quality, the programme was both a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s great leader and a source of inspiration, rekindling patriotism, pride, and the spirit of progress in every Vietnamese today.
